Max Navarro has an Italian origin. The rocker has been working on the release for a while, but now the album “Hard Times” is out.
Even though it is mentioned to be a gem for the AOR and Melodic Rock fans, the album surprises you in a different way. Its more raw than you would have thought and the catchiness is not always the factor that makes this album at its best. Songs are alike and after a while you feel like you are listening to the same tracks again. Such a pity, because the basis of the tracks seem to be working. Some more elaboration into it combined with some more variation would do great. Could Max perhaps create more contrast in his music by playing your emotional side at each border there is to expand? It would certainly keep you interested a little longer. Good, fair enough it is not a terrible album, but it constantly gives you the feeling there could be more in there which Max Navarro did not show yet. Seeing that acts mentioned in the infosheet (Dire Straits, Bruce Springsteen, Bryan Adams etc.) you just realize that there is too much competition in this scene to make this stand out.
