[schema type=”review” name=”5TimesZero – ZeroK” description=”Label: Echozone” author=”Sabine van Gameren” pubdate=”2017-03-10″ ]5TimesZero is a formation from Germany making Synth Pop. They recently released their album “ZeroK”.
The band created an album that is full of easy listening tunes. Some heavier synths and danceable tracks that would bring a clubnight onto its vibrant point. Yet, there is something that seems to stand against it which makes it not too much of a pleasure to listen to. At least not when sober. The lyrics are horrific. Elementary rhyming, uninspiring and so simplistic it becomes annoying. It reigns through the entire album and made it a torture to sit out and listen through. Also the music seems to repeat itself a bit too much through the album. It’s 14 tracks and the same template keeps returning.
If we’re looking what songs makes us at least a bit happier, we come down to “Higher Smile” in which the vocal variation adds a bit to the picture. There are plenty of examples in the scene that know how to make the music a bit more exiting, so hopefully the guys will get some inspiration and put the bar a bit higher for a future release.
“ZeroK” is an album of a band that may want to score easily. Great for parties, but the cd is maybe not so much something you need in your collection.
