The cover has this little advice on it saying “Listen Very Loud” which I did, at all times. Totally overwhelmed by it I didn’t know where to start after tearing the plastic wrapping open. I decided for taking a close look on the CD, case and booklet. I love the layout of it. Grey in black, a little gloomy and mysterious but not threatening. No, somehow Nim Vind’s darkness feels sheltering, and so does the music. As I pressed play I didn’t have any certain expectations, I was simply curious what it would sound like. And I fell in love with it. All songs have a very own character, there is no song that sounds like another one on the album. And each song is telling a story. “Character Assassination” made me think of the soundtrack to Heroin Diaries, “Radio Active Man” reminded me of the Simpsons simply because of the title but the song itself is totally slow and melancholic, a beautiful ballad. “Hadron Collider” is a wonderful song to sing and swing along, whereas “Jack Knife” is a very sweet love song. “Revenge” is a fast paced rockabilly song, simply gorgeous. “The Message” is a very thoughtful song. “The Still Blue” brings some blues and ends the album perfectly well. Time to hit replay or catch Nim Vind live in your city.

A masterpiece that was worth the endless wait.
