A 21-year old rock chick tries to enter music business and now released her debut album to come a little closer to her goal. There\u2019s not much to tell about Layla Milou yet. She is very new in the business and let\u2019s see how far she\u2019ll make it.

\nThe album cover has Layla on it. More a picture you would maybe put in your MySpace gallery instead of your album cover. No high quality super reworked pictures. There are more pictures in the booklet, but none of them looks very professional either. The music doesn\u2019t sound like that either but is more in a line with the style of the pictures: a little bit of everything we have seen before, mixed together in a not really professional way nor with any kind of structure or clear line. All this doesn\u2019t necessarily mean it\u2019s all bad. When you press play on your CD player you can hear some girly rock, maybe even punk rock which soon fades into pop or playground\/kids songs. Layla seems to try every style on this album: singing soft, harsh, shouting, squeaking, speaking and regular singing. Some songs are quite danceable. To others you can jump along on your bed as in all the teenage movies. \u201cI Do Myself\u201d is a quite weird song, lyric wise and music wise. \u201cI\u2019m Armed\u201d begins very romantic before it starts to rock. There is also a cover on this album: \u201cBe My Baby\u201d. You can tell it\u2019s her first album, because the voice is still cracking at some parts and she sometimes gets off tune. But maybe that\u2019s all on purpose.<\/p>\n

Who knows. I guess we have to wait and see.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
