Their most notable feature is their unique blend of post-hardcore and trance, as well as Rou Reynold’s signature voice. The band is named after the boat of one of the band member’s relatives, and a character in a play Rou wrote before forming the band, both of which are named Shikari[citation needed]. Shikari also means ‘Hunter’, in Persian, Hindi, Nepali, Urdu, Punjabi and Bengali. Their debut album, Take to the Skies was released on March 19, 2007 and reached #4 in the Official UK Album Chart. The album was later certified Gold. Their second album, titled Common Dreads is now being released.

After the intro talk the music starts off with electro beats till the band sets in. The singer starts shouting. Listening to the music adrenaline begins rushing through your veins. The first song closes with a choir singing. All songs blend very well, you won’t realize that the next one has begun already. Enter Shikari has a lot of shouting included in their music but also a lot of singing. On this album you have a lot of background shouting and a lot of talking. The music is very energetic and thriving. The album “Common Dreads” reminds of army shouting. The psychedelic music adds a spacey sound to it. During the talking you can hear their UK accent. The sound is very encouraging, powerful and energetic. Enter Shikari is not like any other rock or metal band. Their music is different and very interesting because it is a one of a kind. They combined the most different styles and create a complete new world of music. “Zzzonked” reminds me of The Prodigy. “Gap In The Fence” is the slowest song on the album.

Tracklist:
Common dreads
Solidarity
Step up
Juggernauts
Wall
Zzzonked
Havoc A
No sleep tonight
Gap in the fence
Havoc B
Antwerpen
The jester
Halcyon
Hectic
Fanfare for the conscious man

Links:
Enter Shikari MySpace
Enter Shikari Official

Releasedate: 12-06-2009; Label: Warner By: Nina Mende Enter Shikari is a British post-hardcore band, formed in 2003 in St. Albans, Hertfordshire, which is where the band members are from.
