The band comes from Pittsburgh Pennsylvania and since their beginning they have been quite known in the underground scene due to their young age and their style of binging melodic trash metal. Things began to role for the band after their release of their debut album “Reverence Dies Within” back in 2006. It took some more years to finally sign with Cruz Del Sur, and after a year of intense song writing and creativity the band presents their second full-lenght “Blind Faith Loyalty”. With this new album they hope to take a new road, adding new layers of grace and technicality to their tracks.

It took the band three years to present a follow up album, but during this writing process they kept the core elements of their sound on their first album. I am not a big fan of vocalist Chris Renaldi’s voice which to me, tends to stick onto one pitch, which gets a little boring after a couple of tracks. A positive point is the pounding drums and lead guitarist Joe Bonaddio who knows how to play some melodic solos. Another minor is that most tracks are very lengthy and they loose their charm after a certain time. That is maybe also the reason why the various tracks on the album sound a bit alike. This album is not my cup of tea mostly due to the singers voice, but I can imagine there are people out there who appreciate this kind of vocals and band.

“Dreaming in Reverse” and “Impose Your Will”, I like best. They are among the shorter tracks on the album and have a little more variation in the track itself then the other ones. Although “Hollow Refuge” has a very nice intro the track is a bit slow in the middle while the intro asks for a bit more heaviness, it has a lot of tempo changes but to stretched. I think it was a lot more standing out if it was shorter.

Tracklist:
01 Defame the Hypocrites
02 Drawing the Parallel
03 Bound To Wrath
04 Symbiotic
05 Finality
06 Dreaming In Reverse
07 Privation
08 Impose Your Will
09 Hollow Refuge
10 Blind Faith Loyalty

Links:
Crown the Lost MySpace
Crown the Lost Official

Releasedate: May 2009; Label: Cruz del Sur By: Elvira Visser Crown the Lost, for me an unknown American band has released their second album “Blind Faith Loyalty”.
