Buckcherry is a Grammy-nominated Los Angeles, California hard rock band formed in 1995. The band released two albums, their self-titled debut in 1999 and 2001’s Time Bomb, before dissolving in the summer of 2002. In 2005, lead vocalist Josh Todd and lead guitarist Keith Nelson formed a new band using the Buckcherry moniker and released a new album on April 16, 2006 entitled 15, which contained Buckcherry’s biggest crossover hits to date, “Crazy Bitch” and the band’s first Hot 100 top ten hit, “Sorry”. Their fourth \u201cBlack Butterfly\u201d got released in October in the US and on May 29th in Europe..<\/p>\n

The music, as I already said in the gig review, is a mix between country and rock. The songs are quite refreshing but still representing a sort of American clich\u00e9 music-wise although this kind of music is not hitting mainstream anymore. At least not very often. The lyrics are mainly about drugs, addiction and being high but also about sex and rock\u2019n\u2019roll. Since I am reading Heroin Diaries right now, I guess this album could become my personal soundtrack to that. The sound reminds a little of the 80s and early 90s in American music business. The singer\u2019s voice is strong and a little sleazy, very fitting to the music. The riffs get you high during the solos and make you beg for more once they are done. This album is not only about drugs, it is a drug. \u201cDreams\u201d is a very nice song, very touchy and emotional. All songs are very personal and serious. By simply listening to the songs you can easily guess their title. \u201cDon\u2019t Go Away\u201d is quite a ballad with very deep emotions. \u201cRose\u201d is a very country like song. \u201cImminent Bail Out\u201d is kicking again and rocking out big time. \u201cCream\u201d calms you back down again though and closes this brilliant album.<\/p>\n\n\n
