In June 2007, The Enemy played twice at Glastonbury Festival, first in the ‘Guardian Lounge’ on Saturday and then the much larger ‘Other Stage’ on Sunday. They also headlined on the Saturday night of T In The Park in the ‘Futures’ tent on 7 July 2007. The band’s debut album We’ll Live and Die in These Towns (2007) went straight to Number 1 in the UK Albums chart on release. In the United States they are marketed as The Enemy UK.

The intro is very long and has an 80s industrial sound. As the actual song starts the 80s sound stays, it just becomes more rock and is not that industrial anymore. The songs blend into each other very well. Listening to this album memories of the soundtrack to the old “The Crow” movie come up. “Last Goodbye” is a very melodic and slow song with orchestra playing in the background and accompanied by acoustic guitar. “Keep Loosing” is another slow song, quite sad as well. Sometimes you can find some 70s styles in the music as well. The rest of the album has a moderate speed and still has the sound of another generation. But it doesn’t sound copied, no. It sounds very natural and real. There is a hidden track you should not miss out on. The album is very easy going and great listening to. You feel sent back in time.

Tracklist:
Elephant Song (Album Version)
No Time For Tears (Album Version)
51st State (Album Version)
Sing When You’re In Love (Album Version)
Last Goodbye (Album Version)
Nation Of Checkout Girls (Album Version)
Be Somebody (Album Version)
Don’t Break The Red Tape (Album Version)
Keep Losing (Album Version)
Silver Spoon (Album Version)
It’s not OK
Had enough
We’ll live and die in these towns
This song is about you
Away from here
You’re not alone

Links:
The Enemy Official

Releasedate: 01-05-2009; Label: Warner Music By: Nina Mende The Enemy are a band formed in Coventry in 2006, signed to Warner Music Group (UK).
