Widescreen Mode was formed in Riihim\u00e4ki in 2003 by drummer Janne Aaltonen, singer Samu Brusila, guitar player Janne Lahtinen and bass player Janne Stenroos. They now have their second album released called \u201cThe Hanging Man\u201d.

\nA guy looking like Jesus hanging upside down is covering the album. All the way through the booklet you can find red splashes which is maybe supposed to be blood on the pages that are held in black. You can find pictures of each member in the booklet as well as a complete band picture. There are also the lyrics in the booklet, written in white.
\nSome of the songs remind of 45 Degree Woman or even Metallica when listening to it. You can describe Wide Screen Mode\u2019s Style as metal, with its fast riffs and hard melodies some songs are very metal. Other songs are slower and more melancholic. The entire album is very melodic and not just fast and harsh. The vocals are sung clearly and very harmonic. \u201cThe Hanging Man\u201d and \u201cThe Worst Minutes Of My Life\u201d are the longest songs with over five minutes and over six minutes. But the entire album is still only around 47 minutes long. The lyrics are very thoughtful and great to listen to. The choruses are easy to memorize and sing along. Several songs are also great for moshing along. Some vocal parts are harsher but are still very understandable. No distorted shouting or too harsh and fast distorted riffs.<\/p>\n

The album is great for all fans of melodic metal, so enjoy.<\/p>\n\n\n
