Funebrarum is death metal coming from USA. The band formed in 1999 and brought their debut full length to light in 2001. After releasing a single in 2003 it remained quiet for some years, but now they band is back with their second full length \u201cThe Sleep of Morbid Dreams\u201d

\nThe band seemed influenced by the Scandinavian metal scene. In the past they have been covering bands like Grave for example, which is not that much of a surprise as they make the same sort of slow death metal as Grave does. In general the band comes off brutal and thick, making the purists puke for hours in discussion of the old school versus the modern influences. That drums part is outstanding, leaving the chills on back when the riffs fall over it. Growls are devilish deep, comes forward in songs like \u201cGrave Reaper\u201d quite pleasant. The unholy veins from this album are the combination of the influences with the brutal and the doomish rape of hell.<\/p>\n

The old school metalband surprised on different fronts, while there are less downsides to mention.A small notice to make is that there might have been some more local influences, a non-scandinavian band is allowed to throw in some more of their own instead of taking over a complete style from elsewhere.<\/p>\n
