Blue Roses is a folk\/indie rock project from the UK releasing their debut album \u201cBlue Roses\u201d.

\nThe album is more instrumental than I had expected. A bit of a happy undertone in it, high female vocals that could have been escaped from a female fronted gothic metal band when faced the decision of going happy or stay in the deep down misery. Angelic vocals, dreamy lyrics make the music sound heavenly blessed, never to be damned. But who is this woman that has a common aura with Kate Bush? It is Laura Groves, she is coming from Yorkshire, United Kingdom. The laid back feeling she brings with her folk music is unique, as it is daring and clean. No smudge on any song, they are all polished shiny.<\/p>\n

Some songs actually remind me a bit to Katie Melua, but Laura is a bit more various in her vocal style. Piana is often used in the songs in combination with strings and can get really intense. Brought it to the silky edge of the music at song eight, after that you just heard enough of it. The album last maybe a bit too long to stay focused on it. If there is only a little part of irritation coming up, you better put it of otherwise you are going to hate the sugar sweet voice of Laura which would be a shame.<\/p>\n\n\n
