\u00a0 Atrocity has now delivered their second CD with their project around 80s rock
\n\u00a0 songs. Which started out with one CD full of those 80s classics that had hit
\n\u00a0 the radio stations. And now there is part two “Werk 80 II”, (werk
\n\u00a0 means work in german)bringing back the 80s once again. What Atrocity does is
\n\u00a0 playing those songs heavier than ever before mixed with a choir and a symphony
\n\u00a0 orchestra. <\/p>\n

\u00a0 When holding the CD in my hands I do not see not the band but a lady on the
\n\u00a0 cover: Dita von Teese, a pin up star and fetish icon.<\/p>\n

\u00a0 Frontman Alexander Krull about the album: \u201cWe thought it is a good idea
\n\u00a0 after ten years to record an album like this, to play compositions from others
\n\u00a0 in our typical band style.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u00a0 Atrocity boosted the classical parts on the tracks and added some electronic
\n\u00a0 elements which makes make the songs their own. The CD rocks, but I am not a
\n\u00a0 big fan of the voice. However the song \u201cHere Comes the Rain Again\u201d
\n\u00a0 has a darker melancholic atmosphere and I like Alexander Krull’s voice much
\n\u00a0 more on this track. There are some tracks that stand out a little more. \u201cSmalltown
\n\u00a0 Boy\u201d has an operatic voice to starts the song, which is a very different
\n\u00a0 intro to the song.<\/p>\n

\u00a0 They invited some people to work with them on the CD. You can hear Liv Kristine
\n\u00a0 on \u201cThe Sun Always Shines on TV\u201d and Jensara Swann (a French artist)
\n\u00a0 on \u201cFade to Grey\u201d. What I do like about this CD is that they have
\n\u00a0 taken the 80s songs and transformed them into a more metal atmosphere, Some
\n\u00a0 tracks like \u201cRelax\u201d has some nice growls but the 80s rock touch is
\n\u00a0 still in it. The final song \u201cForever Young\u201d starts with strings and
\n\u00a0 an orchestra can be heard during the track, as well as a choir. Although the
\n\u00a0 music is good, the song is good, I get a feeling that I am listening to a cover-band
\n\u00a0 that is not the best.<\/p>\n

\u00a0 So if you like 80s rock or think it is not heavy enough you should give this
\n\u00a0 album a chance. Although I do not really like the voice, I very much do like
\n\u00a0 the music and because the CD contains those great 80s songs, I will surely listen
\n\u00a0 to it much more.<\/p>\n\n\n
