Lapko… true followers of our website have seen this interesting band already
\na few times hitting our frontpage. Time to get to know them a little better
\nnow!<\/p>\n

– How are you? <\/strong>
\nMalja: \u201cWe are fine! Today is our last gig for the week.\u201d<\/p>\n

– How would you describe your band for potential fans? <\/strong>
\nMalja: \u201cI would say it is a cross between Iron Maiden and Prince. It\u2019s
\nalso something on which you can smile and cry at the same time. That is what
\nI hope. It depends on the songs we are playing. The case with Lapko is\u2026
\nwe have all kind of contrast.\u201d<\/p>\n

– When we want to get know you, we want to know more about your personality.
\nIf you would be an animal, what animal would you be, and why do you think this
\nanimal matches your personality?<\/strong>
\nMalja: \u201cA Cadillac! Because it is the fastest one. I think he *points to
\ndrummer* is a bear\u2026 because he is a bit angry. He get angry very fast,
\nbut in the same minute he can be very calm. And he *points to bassist* would
\nbe a little dinosaur because that is how he behave all the time.\u201d<\/p>\n

– When did you guys started with making music? <\/strong>
\nMalja: \u201cWe started about 12 years ago. We have been skating together. And
\nwe have been watching NOFX. In that time we did not have dvd\u2019s. So we were
\nwatching the video from the gigs and we thought we could choose that lifestyle.
\nYou know\u2026 every night party\u2019s and met girls\u2026 I guess that was
\nour magical movement.\u201d
\nNordberg: \u201cSomewehre between 1997 and 1999 we saw this artistic thing.\u201d<\/p>\n

Malja: \u201cI think Lapko is more then just music. It is the way we look at
\nthings. You know\u2026 we the guys from Lapko stand alone in the team\u2026
\nfrom football. Without any cooperators.\u201d<\/p>\n

– Your lyrics sounds quite emotional. Where did you get inspiration from when
\nwriting lyrics?<\/strong>
\nMalja: \u201cUh\u2026 I don\u2019t know. Maybe hangover is a good one. We don\u2019t
\nhave anything specific where we could get inspiration from. Just from everyday
\nthings. For example, right now\u2026 from you.\u201d
\nNordberg: \u201cI would say we are making some sort of soundtrack for Lapko.
\nAbout our lives.\u201d
\nMalja: \u201cRight now, I just want to be alive. Sometimes\u2026 it comes to
\nmy mind that I have to do some lyrics. I don\u2019t know why, but I just have
\nto do it.\u201d<\/p>\n

– Is there a hidden message in one of your songs?<\/strong>
\nMalja: \u201c*long silence* well, of course there is some message, but with
\nLapko, we don\u2019t send any straight messages. It is not the theme. I think
\nwe are kind of hippie style.\u201d<\/p>\n

– You just released \u201cYoung desire\u201d. Can you tell us something about
\nthis album?<\/strong>
\nMalja: \u201cIt\u2019s an album about desire. Surprise! *laughs* I think it
\nis the best we have done. Ok, every band says that their new album is the best
\nthey have done, but I think it really is. We have had a strong producer this
\ntime and I think it makes us doing things better then last one. We have learned
\nfrom our mistakes, so now in the studio we knew what to do. It is an album about
\nangst of growing up. We are trying to escape from growing up.\u201d<\/p>\n

– We saw the video hugging the phone on your myspace. Do you have plans for releasing
\nanother video from \u201cYoung desire\u201d?<\/strong>
\nMalja: \u201cActually we did a video of Killer Whales, that was our first single
\nin Finland, but it sucks. We have not released it. Maybe we are going to release
\n\u201cYoung desire in October in Germany. Hugging the Phone will be the first
\nsingle I guess. But maybe if something happens in Germany, we will release another
\nvideo. We have some plans, but we have to be quiet about that.\u201d<\/p>\n

– When watching the video of \u201cStacey\u201d we were wondering\u2026 What\u2019s
\nup with the shoes in the end of the video?<\/strong>
\nMalja: \u201c*laughs hard* As I said\u2026 we don\u2019t have any straight messages\u2026
\nIt is just a thing\u2026 A very cool pair of shoes. *laughs again* We just thought
\nthose shoes were pretty cool. Let\u2019s bring them in the video. *still laughing*
\n\u201d<\/p>\n

– Do you have plans for releasing a DVD?<\/strong>
\nMaljo: \u201cUhm\u2026 I don\u2019t want to die in the next three years. I think
\nit is better to release a dvd after a band dies. If we do it now, it could be
\ntoo early.\u201d
\nNordberg: \u201cWhen you release a dvd there is always some sort of documentary
\non it. Then people would find out: those guys are stupid. We are cool on the
\nstage\u2026 but not backstage.\u201d<\/p>\n

– Do you have any upcoming plans for touring? <\/strong>
\nMalja: \u201cYeah we are going on tour to germany, Switzerland, Austria and
\nBeNeLux, but I don\u2019t know any dates yet. End of this year probably. I don\u2019t
\nknow how wide the tour will be.\u201d<\/p>\n

– Where would you love to play? <\/strong>
\nNordberg: \u201cWell, uhm\u2026 maybe Mexico?\u201d<\/p>\n

– Do you see yourself playing stadiongigs, like Metallica does? <\/strong>
\nMalja: \u201cyeah! But I prefer it if you say Queen.\u201d<\/p>\n

– Same idea\u2026<\/strong>
\nMalja: \u201cYeah true. I don\u2019t have any angst for big stages and big audiences.
\nOur music just works better in a smaller club. About 500 people. In summer we
\nhave done some festival gigs. 15.000 people were there. I think that is cool,
\nbut somehow I like it more in a club. Then you can give more and get more. More
\nlike we are living at the same world. But it would be cool playing in a big
\nstadion.\u201d<\/p>\n

– When thinking of the future, is there anyone you want to collaborate with?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Malja: \u201cUhm\u2026 I don\u2019t know\u2026 maybe Pamela Anderson.\u201d<\/p>\n

– Ok, what do you want here to do? Sing?<\/strong>
