Throne of Katarsis is a Norwegian black metal band which formed in 2003. \u201cHelvete – Det Iskalde Morket\u201d is their second full length album.
\n
\nEven though there are only five songs on the album, don\u2019t expect to be done listening too soon. Two songs on the album are longer than 15 minutes and the rest of them aren\u2019t that short either. The total playing time is 52:55 minutes. As I wonder, even though it is black metal, how long can you keep people listening to one song? There are a lot of ambient parts in this album, which make it atmospheric and a bit warmer.
\nThe (sometimes quite) slow parts are creating pauses in the music, between the vocal parts. A sort of silence before the storm that comes with the devilish vocals sniping through the sound.<\/p>\n

The album ends so creepy, so silence and serene with an acoustic guitar. I could not believe that it really was the end of the album. Like the world is totally deserted. Nothing left but emptiness. I look back on it with a feeling: is it already ended? But hey\u2026 almost 53 minutes of black metal from Norway and I still felt like I was done with it in 15 minutes?
\nThe music really brought me into a trance where your own thoughts get related to the music and time is a useless accessory left behind in the real world.<\/p>\n
