My first concert this February was the Swedish band Pain in Frankfurt playing at the Nachtleben. As support they had the Finnish band Brother Firetribe along.

As I arrived at the club the queue was leading far out of the club. I didn’t expect that many people to be there. Downstairs it was totally crowded already as well. Most people were Pain fans, wearing their shirts and other merch, only a few seemed to be only there because of Brother Firetribe.

Brother Firetribe is a Finnish hard rock band. The guitar player Emppu also plays for Nightwish. Their biggest influences are Van Halen and Journey, sometimes they also remind you of Europe though. As they began their show of 30 minutes the audience rocked with them big time. Only a few were singing along but many danced and clapped along, some even banged their heads along. The band was rocking on stage, enjoying the performance big time and seemed very happy. Brother Firetribe received lots of cheering and loud applause. The stage was quite dark, only two mini spots were set on the singer and the other four guys were almost completely left in the dark, but nobody seemed to care much. As they began with “I’m On Fire” they had a fire alarm going off in the background. Most known song in the audience seemed to be “I Am Rock”. Unfortunately they did not get to play any longer than their 30 minutes.

The Nachtleben was totally crowded and sweaty by now. Many people held big beer glasses in their hands, quite crooked and close to spill everything. The pushing around began even before Pain entered the stage because everybody wanted to be up front. As the four Swedes entered the stage the cheering and welcoming of the audience was loud. The band began with a big blast and growling, metal riffs and fast beats. The audience sang along, shouted, banged and simply had a blast seeing these guys on stage. Some of the Pain songs reminded me of Deathstars, others hardly had any melody and only shouting instead of clean vocals. The two screens on each side of the stage showed trailers to each song or the band logo. The club was getting hotter by the second and sweatier. People danced, moshed, banged with their long hair and shouted along. Everybody had a good time with Pain.

Links:
Brother Firetribe MySpace
Brother Firetribe Official
Pain MySpace
Pain Official

Supports: Brother Firetribe; Venue: Nachtleben, Frankfurt (Germany) By: Nina Mende People are back on tour and I am back to concerts.
