The band was formed late 2005 and already had their debut album coming out in 2006. Their new release “In Harm’s Way” will be in stores from 31 January 2009 on.

What you can expect of Violent Divine are typical Rock and Roll sounds, influences of the good old, harder sound of Ozzy Osbourne and Accept. There is A bit of punk, but mainly a lot of driving energetic attitude flowing in their sound. There are some nice melodies and the guitars are demanding a lot of attention.
The voice of vocalist Mike is nice to listen to. Never he goes wrong, but it might appear a bit flat somehow. This mainly because he sings pretty much on the safe side, where he might reach a higher level by taking some more risks. I would be very pleased to challenge the whole band to dive into deepness, the unknown and step away from this safe side to see how much more we can get out of them. If I compare them by the Dutch band Nine Volt for example, I really miss the excitement of the unexpected.

All the songs on this album are pretty much in one line. To name one that stand out, is not really an easy task. A choice to fulfill the task would be the down tempo “End of Times” when it comes to me. It has a bit more direct emotion in it than the others.

“In Harm’s Way”is very well produced and the producer is not unknown to the music world: Pontus Norgren (guitarist of Hammerfall). Altogether the album is surely a nice one and I won’t dismiss it to a dusty corner in my collection for a while, but I am surely curious of how they will develop.

Mike – Vocals
Q – Guitarist
Klaus – Bass
Gus – Drums

Tracklist:

01.
