The Modern Age Slavery was formed a little more than a year ago, and since then the band has produced a demo, signed with Napalm Records and recorded their debut CD \u201cDamned to Blindness\u201d. The band consist of ex-members of Browbeat and Simone Bertozzi, ex Empyrios.

\nAccording to the band they are a symphony of the restless ones. It is the need for sweat as an eternal condemnation. It is the longing to collapse exhausted and rise up again. And that is how I see this band live on stage while listening to their CD. There seem to be a lot of bands out there that play this metalcore style with so much rage and energy and The Modern Slavery is no exception. Mixing the double bass pounding drums with fast riffs and a singer that does not only scream like he is in a hardcore band but also knows how to add a few growls. The band does not leave any room for a melodic interlude, and personally that is what I find missing. The wall of sounds starts and sounds like a machine that does not stop, it does end when the last track comes to an end.<\/p>\n

\u201cDrop by Drop\u201d is maybe a track where they left a tiny space to breath. It has a little more melody but has a solid amount of rage to it. \u201cDecent to Oblivion\u201d shows that they know how to play fast with loads of energy. \u201cPurple\u201d starts a little slower but has sharp growls. The CD ends with a cover from Entombed’s \u201cWolverine Blues\u201d, which is not bad.<\/p>\n\n\n
