The Dutch band The Covenant released a new album after ten years of deep silence.

\nThe Covenant is an often used name for bands. Be sure not to mistaken them with the Swedish EBM band, The Norwegian melodic black metal band (later changed into The Kovenant) one of the many other projects whom they share name with.<\/p>\n

This band is coming from Amsterdam and had their first release in 1991. Their career is going onf or 20 years now and although there was a long period of silence, the band now releases \u201cWelcome to the Real World\u201d.
\nThe album starts with a raw voice singing us a welcome to the real word. A typical hard rock sound follows. You like Iggy Pop? The Covenant has a bit of them, a bit more calm though. Pearl Jam sounds are there as well. A song that stands out is \u201cSue Me\u201d which contains guestvocals of Carmelita Morgenstond and has an interesting intro.<\/p>\n

The most surprising element in this album, does not hit the music but the artwork. The photo\u2019s in the booklet seem so random to me. Not related to each other, not related to the music, nor the lyrics. A typical choice which for me did not really do the trick, because if I would find the cd somewhere in a cd store I do not really get an impression of what I can expect if I don\u2019t know them already.<\/p>\n

Overall, a nice album. The band has thought of a new marketing concept to sell it. It\u2019s called \u201cYourspace\u201c where you can read more of on their myspace.<\/p>\n
