Roxxcalibur, a German tribute\/overt NWOBHM-revival band, returns with the album \u201cNWOBHM From The Vaults\u201d, released on May 9, 2025 through Limb Music. Their mission on this, their fourth full-length, is to dig up obscure tracks from the New Wave of British Heavy Metal era and re-interpret them with respect and some personal flair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
The album opens with \u201cDoctor What?\u201d, a short intro, setting the tone\u2014nostalgic and ritualistic. Then it moves quickly into \u201cDemon Preacher\u201d and \u201cFight For Your Freedom\u201d, which demonstrate Roxxcalibur\u2019s ability to preserve the raw edges of NWOBHM, especially in vocal delivery and guitar tone, while also keeping things listenable with clarity in the mix.

\u201cWheels\u201d stands out as a fast-paced highlight, with its strong hookline and slightly more complex guitar riffing (one of which guitarist Kalli Coldsmith reportedly had to piece together by ear and experiment to recreate.
\u201cOnly Heaven Knows\u201d offers a contrast, more melodic, showing that Roxxcalibur can handle subtler dynamics, not just full throttle. \u201cCecil B. Devine\u201d is another noteworthy one, their version brings it out into the light well.

It neither tries to modernize aggressively nor gloss over rough edges, which will likely appeal to listeners who prefer authenticity over polish.
