Aura is a progressive metal band from Italy which released their first full length CD \u201cA Different View From The Same Side\u201d after releasing several demo\u2019s through the years.
\n
\nAlthough they keyboards were not in their music when they founded the band in 1996, at this release they are quite prominent implemented in their music. Aura created an album where songs last quite long. With only one exception all the songs are longer than 7 minutes. Their music is quite calm, so the length of the songs might be a dangerous part. You tend to lose interest if it takes too long before the clue is there and that certainly happened with me.
\nThe album has some interesting things in it though that kept me from turning it of. For example the second song \u201cA new Life\u201d. After 5 minutes of it, Aura brought a typical jazzy approach to the music.
\nThe fifth song on the album is the title song and comes in two parts: \u201cPromenade\u201d and \u201cRose Garden\u201d. The first part is completely instrumental, in the second part singer Giovanni Trotta comes up with his story.<\/p>\n

Overall the album is a bit too plain for me. I kept waiting for a highlight, but it doesn\u2019t really come up. I missed the power in the music, it sounds like it made without passion, but the lyrics teach me that there must be a part of the heart in their music. I just wonder why it doesn\u2019t really come up in the music.<\/p>\n
