The bands would enter the stage tonight in Exit, Rotterdam. The first was Johnnie Stalker. A filthy, trashy rock band coming from The Hague. They seem to be quite a young band; it was only their fourth gig. The guys and the drumming chick play music in vein of Velvet Revolver. If this was only their fourth gig they did surprise me. I liked their passionate way of playing and performing. But that was a factor I would see all night long. Vocals sometimes tend to be a bit too much screaming instead of singing which makes me wonder if their vocalist will have sore throat the next day. Overall quite nice, they have the potential.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/table>\n

Up next, also from The Hague, came The Blues Junkies. The pretty much continued the line that Johnnie Stalker had set. I personally disliked the vocals in this band, sometimes sounded like there was a little more air needed. More impressed I was with their bassist and the guitar work. Solid and steady. Enough energy was given, mostly by their drummer. They took some audience with them to cheer for them and overall they totally fitted in the evening.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/table>\n

Everyone has bands you can see over and over again. Nine Volt seem to be such a band to me. Since their start in 2004, I have seen live many times. In 2007 the band released their first full length \u201cNine Volt\u201d. Every now and then the band flirts with some other international cities like Rome and Paris for gigging. What\u2019s in the music? Well hear a little Juliette and the Licks, Velvet Revolver, Auf der Maur and a piece of Rotterdam in it. Be prepared for a dose of stage energy when seeing Nine Volt. Exit might not be the biggest stage, but there is enough space to move around a bit and that is what you will see. The band played some of their newest songs which were certainly a bit more aggressive instrumentally then their older work. A special place was kept for the guitars in here. Of course they also played their biggest stage hits like \u201cPsycho Cowboy\u201d, \u201cHate\u201d and \u201cSee My Eyes Go Blind\u201d. After their set, the band couldn\u2019t leave without playing an encore and we got one, where guitarist Menno took attention with showing of his skills.
\nFor me it is clear that Nine Volt is ready for the road to world domination, but I am sure I\u2019ll stick around for some more gigs until then.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/table>\n
