Black Hawk are a heavy metal band from Germany who have been around for quite some time. Their debut saw light in 1989 and yet they then were in a bit of hiatus. The last decades they are more active again and so we have their eighth album on our desk. It is called \u201cSoulkeeper\u201d and it is available now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
The guys from Black Hawk have their roots in the 80’s and that is something you can clearly hear back into their sound. The known names are surely of influence which may not come as a surprise. Luckily they also have developed their own face to it as werll through the years which is welcome. The album opener \u201cSoulkeeper\u201d leaves no time go to waste to show the guys have some proper tempo in their fingers. Thrashy feels and a bit of a Heavy Metal touch make that the album comes catchy with a lot of power.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Looking at catchy we can point to the track \u201cSurvivor\u201d which will hype up a live audience for sure. Towards the end the band seems to slow it a bit, \u201cRock’n’Roll In My Head\u201d explaining that all.
Looking at the album as a whole it is mainly the vocals that we may have to get used to a bit. Sometimes you would like them a bit more powerful, raw than they are, that is sometimes what keeps the whole back in jumping out from the various bands that are alike them. But altogether Black Hawk did nicely with this release, it is an album that brings back the memories to the golden years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
