Now, years later, free from major label entanglements, Jamison has begun making the music that speaks to him with a crystalline certainty. Immediately after signing with NJ indie label Eyeball Records, Jamison made his way to Silver Lake, California and recorded his independent debut “Reinventing The Heartbeat” with Dave Trumfio.

So here we are now, holding this very album in our hands. The album lay-out looks very dreamy with the stars on the huge night sky and the fantasy-like images held in green creating the cover. Pressing play the first melodies don’t try to create a different image: very dreamy and mellow the album starts out, with soft vocals Jamison’s vocals set in. The dreamy sounds are perfect for doing yoga, for chilling out or simply relax. The songs continue very melodic and emotional, soft and mellow but they go deep into your heart trying to reinvent the heartbeat of yours as well. The song to the album title has a strong chorus; “Behind Every Breath” is faster than the previous ones and more like sounds like a typical song you would hear on the radio. You can find the heartbeat in almost all songs of the album’s first half, after that the songs are still about love and eternity but not that much about the heartbeat anymore. Jamison sings much higher at “Lies Lies Lies”; “Paper Flowers Never Die” is a very metaphorical song and is also a little rockier and faster.
“Unit 402” is followed by a piano, a very emotional and touchy song taken out of the daily life.
“Antarctica” somehow reminds me of a typical Gotham City soundtrack where evil is lurking in the background.

All in all the album is, as I said in the beginning, very dreamy, mellow and slow. A nice album: peaceful and patient balancing the hurry and stress of today’s world

Tracklist:
Sunday
Reinventing the Heartbeat
Behind Every Breath
Echoes
Lies Lies Lies
Paper Flowers Never Die
See You Soon
You Know Who You Are
Unit 402
Antarctica
I Explode
Saving Lives
I Ain’t Lost If I’m With You

Links:
E For Explosion MySpace
E For Explosion @ Purevolume

Releasedate: 22-08-2008; Label: Eyeball / Cargo By: Nina Mende In another life, Jamison Covington was the unwilling hero of the warped tour set, signing a major label deal at the age of 18, as one half of Jamison Parker.
