With the inspiration from bands like Meshuggah, Gojira, Nevermore and In Flames, Paul started writing material for EON’s sound, which he likes to call futuristic metal.
Paul found the drummer of the band in Willy Aaraas and the guitarist in Kim Arly Karlsen. Paul soon joined forces with drummer Willy Aaraas and guitarist Kim Arly Karlsen. In 2007 Benjamin Berglund joined the band to play the bass, adding groove and power to the band. But the band was not complete, they were looking for a skilled singer who could add to the sound of the music. They found the right singer in Nesmoht. He was the one with the right vocal range and diversity to complete EON’s sound. Now that they completed the band it was time to enter the studio to record their first demo: “Exile” and spread their own style of music.

The drums are welcoming you to the EON sound and the EP starts with some solid sound of drums and guitars, building up for that moment where you will be introduced to the voice of Nesmoht. Starting off with some clean vocals to burst out into some growling but not for too long. I think the first track “Exile” has a great mix of clean vocals and growls. The second song on the EP is called “Genesis” and the tempo of this song is a bit faster than the first and set the tone for the other tracks. Nice pounding drums but not trying to sound too difficult. “Flashback” reminds me of Rules of Engagement, another Norwegian band in which Kim Arly Karlsen plays. The last track on this EP is “Fatal Creation” which is my personal favourite. The drums are pounding, the guitars have great riffs and the singing/growling melodies are great. With this album EON shows to be a band that knows how to play their songs, building it up from the beginning to the end.

EON:
Nesmoht – Vocals
Paul Olsen – Guitar
Kim Arly Karlsen – Guitar
Willy Aaraas – Drums
Benjamin Berglund – Bass

Tracklist:
1.
