\u00a0 Now this was a really hard review to write\u2026.
\n\u00a0 First of all: what should I tell you about Nick Cave without having a whole
\n\u00a0 review about him and his various projects, his complex personality, his active
\n\u00a0 past and so on? And then how should I describe the new album to you not even
\n\u00a0 knowing myself what to think of it? It is great, it is a masterpiece, yet hard
\n\u00a0 to describe and everything else than \u201cnormal\u201d and average.<\/p>\n

\u00a0 About Nick Cave I decided to just give you a short introduction, the rest you
\n\u00a0 can find out yourself:
\n\u00a0 Nick Cave released his first album with the Bad Seeds, From Her to Eternity,
\n\u00a0 in 1984, which\u00a0contained a noteworthy cover of Elvis Presley’s “In the Ghetto,” foreshadowing\u00a0much\u00a0of Cave’s style and subject matter on the follow-up The Firstborn Is Dead. Kicking\u00a0Against\u00a0the Pricks, an all-covers album, broke the band in England with the help of\u00a0“The Singer,”\u00a0which hit number one on the U.K. independent charts. The album also strengthened\u00a0Cave’s\u00a0reputation as an original interpreter and a vocal stylist of note. And did a\u00a0 hell of a lot more since then\u2026 He seems like a true workaholic.<\/p>\n

\u00a0 About the album \u201cDIG, LAZARUS, DIG\u201d:
\n\u00a0 Well well, what can I tell? This album is very dubious and shady. It is definitely
\n\u00a0 not easy to describe in words, you must have heard it yourself. I can\u2019t
\n\u00a0 even give suggestions about who would like it and who not. The new Nick Cave
\n\u00a0 and the Bad Seeds album is very complex, the sound is from the 50s and 60s.
\n\u00a0 Listening to it you get the impression of watching an old Mafia movie or a gangster
\n\u00a0 movie from that time, in black and white of course. The album sound a little
\n\u00a0 bit devilish, insane and sometimes just evil or desperate, sometimes it simply
\n\u00a0 sounds like a good mix of all. Some songs recall some scenes out of the movie
\n\u00a0 \u201cThe Godfather\u201d. Listening to the song \u201cNight Of The Lotus Eaters\u201d
\n\u00a0 the phrase \u201cSympathy for the Devil\u201d comes into my mind. And if you
\n\u00a0 think of \u201cWhere the Wild Roses Grow\u201d when thinking of Nick Cave, this
\n\u00a0 album is far away from that style and not comparable, not even recognizable.
\n\u00a0 As I said, this album is unique with its style, sound and arrangement, just
\n\u00a0 the whole image and concept of it is like nothing I have heard before. It sounds
\n\u00a0 like Nick put an evil spirit on it, gloomy and dark, twisted and different.
\n\u00a0 Yet does it get stuck in your head, and you can probably complete phrases easily
\n\u00a0 after hearing it twice. It ingrains in your brains. But before I keep on trying
\n\u00a0 to explain this album to you in vain, just get it yourself and make up your
\n\u00a0 own mind. I like it with all its emotions, sounds and uniqueness!<\/p>\n\n\n
