\u00a0 Yes, I like Take That, but not since the beginning. I started liking them as
\n\u00a0 they released the black and white video where all guys were tied up to these
\n\u00a0 chairs and got pushed into the lake. I think that was their last before the
\n\u00a0 break. Now, as they released \u201cPatience\u201d I guess you could say they
\n\u00a0 got me completely.\u00a0\u00a0 I so had to get the album and I would have even gone
\n to their show if I didn\u2019t have to go to another gig that night. I listened to that
\n\u00a0 album a thousand times and sang along all the time. Such a pity that I didn\u2019t
\n\u00a0 catch them live… Many people told me it must have been a blast and just amazing.
\n\u00a0 But now I have gotten the DVD \u201cBeautiful World Live\u201d recorded at The
\n\u00a0 O2 in London in front of more than \u00bd a million people. Holding the DVD
\n\u00a0 in hands, you can\u2019t imagine how happy and excited I was to watch it\u2026<\/p>\n

\u00a0 I don\u2019t think I have to tell you anything about the band itself, do I?
\n\u00a0 No, ok. So I go straight to the DVD review part:<\/p>\n

\u00a0 The DVD contains two discs, one with the show on it and one with the extras
\n\u00a0 on it. I watched the show one first. But one after another!
\n\u00a0 First of all I of course explored the whole DVD, meaning taking a closer look
\n\u00a0 at it, especially the booklet: The Take That logo on the front, playlist on
\n\u00a0 the back \u2013 how average and boring, right? But now open it! It is folded
\n\u00a0 in the way, that when you unfold it the first time you can see the silhouettes
\n\u00a0 of each band member filled with a night sky including shining stars, a statement
\n\u00a0 of each one about the tour and comeback underneath each silhouette and the writing
\n\u00a0 \u201cTake That Beautiful World Live\u201d right across it. Unfold it the next
\n\u00a0 time: you see close-ups of each member with a little moon or the earth (can\u2019t
\n\u00a0 quite identify it) in the middle. Unfolding it the next and last time you can
\n\u00a0 see many concert pictures, the playlist again and underneath each title there
\n\u00a0 are a couple lines about the song, tour or show impression or something alike
\n\u00a0 by one of the guys. The inside of the DVD is not as spectacular as the booklet
\n\u00a0 in my opinion, so I\u2019m not going to go into that much further. And besides
\n\u00a0 that I have already written that much without even having started with the actual
\n\u00a0 material on the DVDs.<\/p>\n

\u00a0 As I said, the first disc contains the complete live show in London. It starts
\n\u00a0 out with an opera singer and a visual journey through the story of Take That,
\n\u00a0 then you can see the four guys behind presidents podiums performing \u201cReach
\n\u00a0 Out\u201d. I could tell you something about each and every song they play and
\n\u00a0 everything else that happens during the show, but then the magic would be gone.
\n\u00a0 It\u2019s like telling the end of a movie in advance. But let me tell you that
\n\u00a0 much: They have put very much effort into the show, the preparations of it,
\n\u00a0 the effects and simply everything. It is an amazing show which is comparable
\n\u00a0 with a good musical or a theater. They have many dancers and play old songs
\n\u00a0 as well. Take That use two stages, one of them is built up in the middle of
\n\u00a0 the venue surrounded by the audience. They have pyrotechnics and lots of light,
\n\u00a0 as well as some other special stuff and even special guests. Many different
\n\u00a0 styles are combined in the show: classic, dancers, disco, acoustic, storytelling,
\n\u00a0 even a solo of Jason performing \u201cWooden Boat\u201d all by himself in the
\n\u00a0 stage. The guys talk a lot with the audience and play with them as well. The
\n\u00a0 show also includes some old songs and Take That check if their audience still
\n\u00a0 knows all the old songs by heart, and they do! There is a different concept
\n\u00a0 for each song, each one more amazing than the other one. An amazing show, made
\n\u00a0 me jealous that I couldn\u2019t have been there, but hey, I have it on DVD now!
\n\u00a0 I would love to watch that DVD (the live show) in a movie theater with its big
\n\u00a0 screen and the Dolby Surround sound. Or I just catch them live next time. But
\n\u00a0 I am definitely amazed by it and deeply touched. Simply amazing show, it totally
\n\u00a0 got me.<\/p>\n

\u00a0 The second disc contains behind the scenes material, a sort of tour diary where
\n\u00a0 they boys talk about Howard\u2019s injury during the tour and what Howard did
\n\u00a0 during the shows he couldn\u2019t be on stage performing with the others, the
\n\u00a0 21 trucks that hold their show equipment, introduces you to all the featured
\n\u00a0 artists such as the dancers, the guest vocalist, the musicians, the manager
\n\u00a0 and everybody else who is touring with Take That. Further you can see all the
\n\u00a0 preparations that had to be made for the show including some dance practice
\n\u00a0 and many other behind the scenes and backstage impressions. The band commentary
\n\u00a0 is – as the name says – comments of the band about each part of the show. The
\n\u00a0 photo gallery shows pictures from onstage and backstage happenings, as well
\n\u00a0 as pictures of the happenings at the backstage and preparation, rehearsals and
\n\u00a0 practices and so on. This disc also shows you that the guys are still very down
\n\u00a0 to earth.<\/p>\n

\u00a0 I hope this review gave you an idea of the DVD, a quick yet sufficient peak
\n\u00a0 into the \u201cBeautiful World\u201d of Take That. And maybe you will be just
\n\u00a0 as amazed by Take That as I was, even though you haven\u2019t been a fan before\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n
