\u00a0 In the year 2007 Sven Friedrich, the singer of Zeraphine and the legendary Dreadful
\n\u00a0 Shadows, brought his solo project Solar Fake into being. Here, the charismatic
\n\u00a0 front man, who is mentioned in several lexica and reference books as the outrider
\n\u00a0 for the combination of rock and electronics in dark music, can live his penchant
\n\u00a0 for electronic music perfectly. Solar Fake is a pure electro- project and there
\n\u00a0 are synthesized sounds only, except for his incomparable voice. <\/p>\n

\u00a0 Since I like Dreadful Shadows and Zerpahine, I was really excited to finally
\n\u00a0 listen to the new project of mastermind Sven Friedrich. So here I am and holding
\n\u00a0 \u201cBroken Grid\u201d of Solar Fake in my hands. Other than Sven\u2019s other
\n\u00a0 bands this is a pure electronic album which I would describe with EBM, Synth-Pop
\n\u00a0 and slightly Industrial. I think that gives you a quite fitting idea of what
\n\u00a0 it sounds like. The album starts out with \u201cHiding memories from the sun\u201d,
\n\u00a0 a quite melancholic song, and continues with the much harsher song \u201cStigmata
\n\u00a0 rain\u201d that reflects the industrial part of the album. Sven\u2019s low and
\n\u00a0 deep voice goes straight into your feelings and your brain, a very nice voice.
\n\u00a0 The album is melancholic and the music very melodic, great songs to get stuck
\n\u00a0 in your head. Several songs on the album are very danceable and definitely have
\n\u00a0 club potential. The song \u201cCreep\u201d is outstanding with its great melody
\n\u00a0 and the nice lyrics. It is quite slow but energetic and full in the chorus.
\n\u00a0 \u201cHere I stand\u201d is a song that will definitely get stuck in your head.
\n\u00a0 Another harsh and industrial song is \u201cLies\u201d. \u201cYour hell is here\u201d
\n\u00a0 is the ballad of the album, very slow, melancholic and nice. In the last song
\n\u00a0 \u201cI can\u2019t remember\u201d Sven sings very low and deep, another slow
\n\u00a0 song with deep lyrics.<\/p>\n
