\nINXS: <\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0 This Australian band was about to open the festival on the main stage. Their
\n\u00a0 first single \u201csimple simon\u201d was released in 1980. Unfortunately their
\n\u00a0 singer committed suicide in 1997. After his dead INXS did only a few shows with
\n\u00a0 different singers. In 2005 they have set up an audition on television. The 31
\n\u00a0 years old Canadian singer James Dean Fortune was the winner. According to the
\n\u00a0 rest of the band, Fortune had the same sort of touch as the original singer
\n\u00a0 Michael Hutchence.
\n\u00a0 Today, he is about to prove to the fans that he is worth to be the new INXS
\n\u00a0 singer. You can definately see that Fortune is younger than the rest of the
\n\u00a0 band. He is taking all the energy with him. The musical part of it is just perfect.
\n\u00a0 He has a deep dark voice which fits perfectly, but the performance part is also
\n\u00a0 perfect. His moves are raw, he is hot, he is sex and he is all what INXS is
\n\u00a0 about. It is a pleasure watching the complete band by the way. The other musicians
\n\u00a0 are on stage playing the music when all attention goes to Fortune running and
\n\u00a0 dancing on the catwalk. But you can\u2019t forget about them. They might be
\n\u00a0 a little in the background, but they are the engine of Fortune.
\n\u00a0 When the band plays their most well known songs \u201cNeed you tonight\u201d,
\n\u00a0 \u201cDevil Inside” and \u201cNever tear us apart\u201d their performance
\n\u00a0 is about to reach its highest level.
\n\u00a0 INXS is completely renewed with their new singer. They are ready for at least
\n\u00a0 another 15 years of hot, steamy music.<\/p>\n

\u00a0 Roger Hodgson <\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0 After INXS I wanted to see how Thin Lizzy was doing in the tent. Arriving there
\n\u00a0 I found out that people were watching it even from outside the tent. No change
\n\u00a0 that I could get in. I decided to change plans and walked up to the smallest
\n\u00a0 stage where Roger Hodgson was about to play. The name Roger Hodgson did not
\n\u00a0 say me that much. Then I opened the program I got when I entered the festival
\n\u00a0 area and found out that he was the singer of Supertramp. Interesting!
\n\u00a0 The stage was filled with a piano, a keyboard and an acoustic guitar. Roger
\n\u00a0 Hodgson entered the stage. I was looking at an old man which still enjoys playing
\n\u00a0 music. I would never have thought this music would have an impact on me. The
\n\u00a0 songs were played pretty emotional . And I felt like Roger has given his heart
\n\u00a0 to the music. His performance was pretty easy going. Switching from keyboard
\n\u00a0 to acoustic guitar to piano a few times. Talking to the audience and telling
\n\u00a0 some words about his life.
\n\u00a0 A lot of the songs made by Roger Hodgson whether in his solo career or as Supertramp
\n\u00a0 have been a great example for the nowadays musicians. When he played \u201cGive
\n\u00a0 a little bit\u201d, \u201cDreamer\u201d and \u201cBreakfast in America\u201d
\n\u00a0 (recently Gym class hero\u2019s had a big hit with a sample of this song) the
\n\u00a0 complete audience was singing along. Unfortunately, he could only play one hour.
\n\u00a0 The audience wanted more, he wanted to give more himself, but he was not allowed\u2026
\n\u00a0 Too bad.<\/p>\n

\u00a0 Europe<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0 One of the last times I saw Europe, was when I accidentally run into them when
\n\u00a0 two friends dragged me to Top of the Pops recordings. There, they never tell
\n\u00a0 before who is going to play because people would leave after the most interesting
\n\u00a0 band have been played. But when I entered the studio, I saw the drums with the
\n\u00a0 Europe logo. As being a Classic rock lover I immediately knew that it was Europe.
\n\u00a0 So I was quite shocked that NOBODY knew who Europe was. The point when they
\n\u00a0 knew who they were was when I told them they have made the song \u201cThe final
\n\u00a0 countdown\u201d.
\n\u00a0 This song is historical. And it was the reason for Europe to come together after
\n\u00a0 they quit. In 1999 they came together to re-release \u201cThe Final Countdown\u201d
\n\u00a0 as millennium song. After that they released some new albums.
\n\u00a0 As being a band with so many hits, they could have played a complete set with
\n\u00a0 their hits, but they did not. They played quite some songs of their latest two
\n\u00a0 albums. For the audience it didn\u2019t matter. It seems like there were so
\n\u00a0 many die-hard Europe fans that they know the lyrics anyway.
\n\u00a0 Due to the performance I can say that they are a typical classic rock band back
\n\u00a0 on tour. Just like bands as King Diamond and Alice cooper they understand that
\n\u00a0 free giveaways are like giving candy to a little child. I think I saw at least
\n\u00a0 30 plectrums thrown to the audience. Yes, we are in the Netherlands and we like
\n\u00a0 free stuff, but this is may be a little over the top. I don\u2019t understand
\n\u00a0 why they did this, since their music and performance is good enough to please
\n\u00a0 us anyway.
\n\u00a0 After the soundtrack to their lifes \u201cThe Final Countdown\u201d has been
\n\u00a0 played they leave us with the message that they will be back soon.
\n\u00a0 That sounds promising.<\/p>\n

\u00a0 Aerosmith<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0 Last week I saw these guys making a great show on Graspop, I was kind of wondering
\n\u00a0 if it was a good idea to see them again this week. I found out that I better
\n\u00a0 had to stay away. Although the sounds and performance were perfect again, I
\n\u00a0 had the feeling that I was looking to a DVD version of the show. It was exactly
\n\u00a0 the same. Same words, same moves\u2026 It shocked me, that they were so less
\n\u00a0 spontaneous!
\n\u00a0 With Aerosmith being the headliner, everyone went to the mainstage to see them.
\n\u00a0 The people, who did not see them before on this tour, probably loved it since
\n\u00a0 the songs were really well done! Musically it was great. This time, he even
\n\u00a0 wrote \u201clik mij\u201d on his belly. Which is Dutch for: Lick me.
\n\u00a0 After one and a half hour they left the stage and came back for only 1 song
\n\u00a0 in the encore. \u201cWalk this way\u201d. When hearing the lyrics: \u201cShe
\n\u00a0 told me to walk this way\u201d… I immediately wondered who taught them the
\n\u00a0 choreography. Must be hard for a rockstar, to learn your performance by heart.<\/p>\n
