But never really more. The
credits for me knowing them go to the 69eyes, because Jyrki was talking to them
as they played in the venue next door in Finland… but before I get off track
talking, let me get back to the show. So here I was about to see a whole and
complete show by Mad Sin, finally. Café Central, where they played at,
reminded me of Klubi in Tampere for some reasons. I also found out that at Café
Central several psychobilly bands were playing throughout the year. Good to
know.

Tonight two support acts were sharing the stage with Mad Sin.

The first one was Gaslicker from Worms/Germany. The venue was still quite empty and everybody was standing in the very back of it with no ambitions to come closer. The band played for about 30 minutes and the singer kept on trying to break the ice, but it didn’t work out that well.

They finished their performance with two movie soundtrack covers from back in the day and left the stage.

Now the venue was getting fuller, the people were coming up closer to the stage, not much, but at least a little bit, while the second band, called The Sewer Rats, were getting everything set up on stage.

These three guys are from Cologne/Germany and besides guitar and drums they have a stand-up bass. They rocked the house for about 30 minutes and the audience was with them all the time. The Sewer Rats played greeat and very energetic psychobilly rock, with catchy melodies and great vocals of all three of them. A really nice performance by a nice band.

And I definitely have to keep an eye on them. I was impressed by their performance.

Up next and last for the night was Mad Sin, the venue was crowded by now and a lot of alcohol had already been consumed by some of the audience. Mad Sin started and the audience went completely wild, forgetting everything around them, just dancing, moshing and singing along. Mad Sin did not only kick ass, but also kicked out the power for about 5 minutes, but Koefte deVille (vocals) was grabbing the megaphone and started talking to his audience, he even gave some of them beer. As the power was back they continued their show. Some guys of the audience grabbed the mic and sang along to the songs. Valle’s stand-up bass had lights on its frame, it looked really nice. As it was getting closer to the end of their performance Hellvis, who is also their … let’s call it roadie, came up on stage with a machine gun which was shooting out fireworks, then he began to sing a couple songs. Then all the sudden Valle was climbing on top of the kneeling Koefte deVille and the stand-up bass was beginning to shoot fireworks. Soon after that the show was over. A great show and everybody had enjoyed it.

Links:
Gaslicker Myspace
Gaslicker Official
The Sewer Rats Myspace
The Sewer Rats Official
Mad Sin Myspace
Mad Sin official

Support: Gaslicker, The Sewer Rats; Cafe Central, Weinheim (Germany) By: Nina Mende Mad Sin, I have seen them before, several times, but never live… well ok, a song or two.
