After 10 years Aura
decided to stop because we wanted to do something new and refreshing. After
several months after Aura had stopped playing, we started Scenario II with a
few members from Aura. We found good new musicians and did what we had to do,
make good new songs.”

You guys called the band Scenario II, because it was the 2nd part of the band?

Mark”Indeed, we saw this as a second chance but the song scenario II has nothing
to do with this new start”

The last gig was also the last gig for 2 band members, have you found new guys or maybe girls?

Mark”Hehe I wish we found girls. Last September we found Namtar our new drummer
and in October we found our new guitarist, Nick. He will not play the up coming
gigs in December because of the short time. Dirk, our ex-guitar player will
fill in for Nick during these gigs.”

How would you describe your band for potential fans?

Mark”ScenarioII plays the Gothenburg style if you have to give it a name but in
our very own way, so you can expect some fast melodic riffs.”

What makes the sound of Scenario II unique?

Mark”We are tuned in c, that is what makes the sound more brutal but still very
melodic. All members of Scenario II have other musical background and like other
styles which makes Scenario II very interesting and really everything is possible
musically.”

How would you describe the band in 3 words?

 Mark”innovative, purposeful and enthusiastic.”

Can you explain one of the 3 words you connect with the band?

Mark”Scenario II is more driven then ever. We have set some new goals and want
to achieve them no matter what. We have a lot of fun to play and would like
to contribute to the metal world, and leave our mark. Scenario II would not
exist if we would not have fun in making music and performing together on stage.”

How was your first gig, performing?

Mark”It was the funniest gig ever, Mark laughs, we had to play in Tilburg 013 and
I was really really nervous. I played the whole set faced to the stage manager
including the solo’s that I played. Mark grins. I was very shy and get shy again
talking about it. After the gig i waved like a child to the audience. So the
audience only saw me from the side during the entire gig.”

If you could include a female vocalist for maybe one song, who would that be?

Mark”I don’t remember her name but she sings on a track off the band: In Flames.
I think the 4th track on their new album. I would love to try this out.”

Do you have some funny backstage stories to share with us?

Mark”*grins* we have had enough funny experiences but we have some sort agreement
with the band not to talk about it. But it is alywas a lot of fun and very cozy.”

Your going on tour soon with 2 Norwegian bands, how did that happened?

Mark” Well, when we played our first gig with Trail of Tears on our minitour in
Bibelot (Dordrecht),

Kim, a member of the crew from Trail of Tears came to us and wanted to talk
to me in private. He was really impressed about our music and wanted us to go
with them on tour in Norway and that is how it started. Trail of Tears also
want to do more gigs with us and we will go with them on tour in Holland early
May 2008 and in Norway as well.”

What went though your mind when Kim was asking this, don’t think you will be asked everyday to go on tour with a band?

Mark”We were very surprised and it felt like….FINALLY! This is our chance that
we deserve, because everyone is always saying that we are a good band but there
is never the chance to prove ourselves. And now we have. It felt awesome. Hopefully
the ice is broken.”

What can we expect from Scenario II during this little tour?

Mark”We want to show our fans that we have found a great replacement for our ex
drummer, Bas.

We will play the songs a bit faster then normally, that is what you will get
to hear and see.”

Where would you like to see your band in the future, are there any dreams?

Mark”My dream would be to show the world what we do. See countries with the band/friends and meet new people who like metal! I hope we get a nice record deal and leave something behind in the metal scene. As long as we have fun together and play
in a lot cool places, my dream in music will come true.”

When thinking of the future, is there a band you would love to tour with?

Mark”I really would love to tour with In Flames or Soilwork because I get a lot
of inspiration of these great bands and Shakira, . Big grin on Marks face.”

Which song would you like to cover and which song should be untouched?

Mark”I would love to cover Anathema’s “Angelica” but this shouldn’t be
covered at all because is way too good as it is. I have very deep memories of
that song. I have the feeling that I almost melt if i hear it live.”

Do you have anything to say to your fans:

 Mark”Our website is online: www.scenarioii.nl
Our plans in the near future are to record our new cd “Uniforms of Death”
early 2008. After this we go to Norway and visit our friends from “Rules of Engagement”
and “Eon” and tour Norway.”

[7
203,323,455,529
post-169","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-interviews","tag-203","tag-323","tag-455","tag-529

Scenario II - 01/12/2007 - Tempelores Magazine

{"Written by":"Sabine van Gameren","Est. reading time":"5 minutes
@context":"https://schema.org","@graph":[{"@type":"Article","@id":"https://tempelores.com/?p=169#article
@id":"https://tempelores.com/?p=169
Sabine van Gameren","@id":"https://tempelores.com/#/schema/person/604921eeb8297efa0d8b25cc121a2d1c
Scenario II –
