\u00a0 To be honest, I don\u2019t know many rock bands from South Africa other then
\n\u00a0 Seether. Seether made its breakthrough in Europe and America with the ballad
\n\u00a0 song \u201cBroken\u201d featured by Amy Lee,singer of the popular gothic rock
\n\u00a0 band Evenescence. But when I heard their first cd, I was already sold. After
\n\u00a0 a long period of silence, Seether is back with its fifth album \u201cFinding
\n\u00a0 Beauty in Negative Spaces\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u00a0 The first album \u201cDisclaimer\u201d was released in 2002 and gave is raw
\n\u00a0 and edgy hard rock songs. This album was later rereleased under the name \u201cDisclaimer
\n\u00a0 II. During the years the band developed a more smooth style.<\/p>\n

\u00a0 In the year 2005 the band released \u201cKarma and Effect\u201d which contained
\n\u00a0 hits as \u201cTruth\u201d and \u201cRemedy\u201d. The album sold platinum. With
\n\u00a0 this album they wanted to step away from the image they created with their break
\n\u00a0 trough song \u201cBroken\u201d.
\n\u00a0 In 2006 they released an acoustic album and now in 2007 they finally came up
\n\u00a0 with some new material. The album starts of with the confidential sound of Shaun\u2019s
\n\u00a0 voice on \u201cLike Suicide\u201d. Loads of energy coming out of my speakers!
\n\u00a0 Exactly what I am used to when listening to these South Africans. Second song
\n\u00a0 on the album is \u201cFake it\u201d which is the first single of this album.<\/p>\n

\u00a0 The scream driven songs sound a little more melodic compared with their latest
\n\u00a0 studio release. The album total also sounds a little more melodic, but \u201cFinding
\n\u00a0 Beauty in Negative Spaces\u201d is definitely a logical follow up album in the
\n\u00a0 discography of Seether. The band seems to want to learn us something important:
\n\u00a0 Whatever happens, always look on the bright side of life!<\/p>\n
