{"id":112,"date":"2007-09-29T20:10:04","date_gmt":"2007-09-29T19:10:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tempelores.com\/?p=112"},"modified":"2019-11-13T20:30:57","modified_gmt":"2019-11-13T18:30:57","slug":"28-09-2007-the-voodoo-godz-and-pussy-sisster","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tempelores.com\/?p=112","title":{"rendered":"28-09-2007 The Voodoo Godz and Pussy Sisster"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><small><em>Venue: Frankfurt(Germany)<br \/>\nBy: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tempelores.com\/?page_id=243#nina\">Nina Mende<\/a><\/em><\/small><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 What would a concert be without any problems, trouble or chaos??<br \/>\n\u00a0 And what would a band be without being able to handle that?<br \/>\n\u00a0 Bad band and boring gig.<br \/>\n\u00a0 Neither of that was this, though. <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 All the chaos and missing equipment and other &#8220;happenings&#8221; were handled<br \/>\n\u00a0 more than well by these two bands: The Voodoo Godz from Frankfurt\/Germany and<br \/>\n\u00a0 the Pussy Sisster from Karlsruhe\/Germany.<br \/>\n\u00a0 They played in a little pub in Frankfurt, the show was supposed to start at<br \/>\n\u00a0 9 pm but ended up starting after 10:30 &#8230;. but oh well, the weather outside<br \/>\n\u00a0 was terrible anyways. And the pub was warm and dry, just quite empty. Besides<br \/>\n\u00a0 the band, the manager and us, there were about 20 other people. What a pity.<br \/>\n\u00a0 I mean, it was for free. Ok, it was a Thursday night and it was pouring outside,<br \/>\n\u00a0 maybe that was the reason.<\/p>\n<p>But let me tell you about the show: Actually the Pussy Sisster were supposed<br \/>\nto start, but they went to change and in that time the Voodoo Godz started with<br \/>\ntheir soundcheck and also started with their show right after that. So they<br \/>\nended up playing first. But what does that matter? The Voodoo Godz is a rockabilly band from Frankfurt, who also were the opening act for Blitzkid in August as they played in Frankfurt (a show I\u00a0unfortunately couldn&#8217;t attend, because my\u00a0lucky self was in Helsinki ). The singer, Ren\u00e9, sounded a little bit\u00a0like Lemmy of Mot\u00f6rhead, not only because they played &#8220;Ace of Spades&#8221;.\u00a0\u00a0 They were really good, so it was a real pity that so few people were there,\u00a0because I think they deserve more, but that is just my opinion. The Voodoo Godz\u00a0played, no, let me say rocked and definitely kicked ass for about 45 minutes.\u00a045 minutes I was wondering why they don&#8217;t play at all these various little Rockabilly\u00a0Festivals and Punk Festivals or take part of the Hellnights Tour and stuff like\u00a0that.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0 And here is what these guys played:<br \/>\n<\/strong>\u00a0 Problems<br \/>\n\u00a0 Bad taste movie<br \/>\n\u00a0 Don&#8217;t talk to me<br \/>\n\u00a0 Running silent<br \/>\n\u00a0 Sonic reducer<br \/>\n\u00a0 Cruel heart<br \/>\n\u00a0 Superstar<br \/>\n\u00a0 Supersonic ride<br \/>\n\u00a0 Gasoleena<br \/>\n\u00a0 This is the night<br \/>\n\u00a0 Anger<br \/>\n\u00a0 Ace of spades<br \/>\n\u00a0 I wanna be your dog<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 \u00a0After them the Pussy Sisster were up. A band I have never heard before, but<br \/>\n\u00a0 as they came back from changing outfits, I figured it would be something like<br \/>\n\u00a0 a sleaze rock \/ glamrock band, and they were. They sounded like a mix of Hardcore<br \/>\n\u00a0 Superstars, The Pleasures, Gemini5 and the Spacebrains. The Pussy Sisster played<br \/>\n\u00a0 many new songs and also played for 45 minutes and let the glam rock revive in<br \/>\n\u00a0 this little pub in Frankfurt\/Germany. The few people that were there, were clapping<br \/>\n\u00a0 along (well, mostly the other band clapped and hollered, simply because there<br \/>\n\u00a0 were not so many more). I am sure we will hear more of the Pussy Sisster in<br \/>\n\u00a0 the future, so stay tuned.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 Both of the bands made the best out of the circumstances of the evening.
