Electro/Breakbeat formation Dynamic Syndicate has their base in Cologne, Germany. In 2012 they came with their debut album called “Noises” and this year they return with a follow up album. “Higher State Of Consciousness” is out now.
The Germans are not really giving you an album that listens easily. It has catchy tunes, but the predictability at the first few songs breaks you up a bit. At first you could think it being a bit simplistic, but maybe that would not be the most accurate description. The ideas that the band tries to bring could work but how they are presented now, they are just not executed to its fullest. The band could expand on them, think bigger and make it just that bit more dynamic. Some extra attention in the vocals would do lots as well. Here and there more backings maybe, or a bit more variation all over. After a couple of tracks you simply lose interest and it is tempting to stop listening way before hearing all of it.
Some work to do for Dynamic Syndicate. “Higher State Of Consciousness” is not an album that puts the band in their best light. Perhaps there is more in them, but it did not come out yet.
