“Backroads To Byzantium” is the fourth studio album of the Irish band “Glyder” since 2004 when the band showed itself to the music world in the very first time.
Look at the cover: there is hairy hitchhiker tries to stop the truck in the darkest night. So, get start the journey and fasten the sitting belts. The Hitchhiker’s Audio Guide to the Eternity is available to everyone whom interested. Warning: this isn’t kind of journey that could bring the shiny souvenirs and colorful pictures of smiling people among wonderful places. This is psychedelic travel full of dark emotions accompanied by 70’s melodies.
“Backroads To Byzantium” contains 10 quite different tracks from heavy opening track “Chronicled Deceit” to the ballad “Motion of Time”. Between those tracks you can hear elements of blues, Americana and even easy-listening tunes. In addition the tempo changing and “swung note” make the “gears’” sound psychedelic rough. All the lyrics include 3 characteristics: (not wasting) time, (get the right) direction and (don’t judge the) fate. Being in the right time and place is a golden solution of problem to be mistaken. On this note the journey comes to the end. Did you like it or not only is your choice. Remember, don’t make mistakes.
