The Low Anthem is an indie folk band based in Providence, Rhode Island. The band rose to prominence with the release of their album Oh My God, Charlie Darwin. The album was originally self-released by the band in September 2008, and was later re-released by Nonesuch Records in America and British label Bella Union in Europe. Their new album is called “Smart Flesh” and is out now.
A very basic cover, very 30s too. Nostalgic just like their music: The Low Anthem play country music like we know it from the cowboy movies. The album “Smart Flesh” comes with eleven brand new tracks. “Ghost Woman Blues” is a slow song and starts the album very relaxed. “Smart Flesh” does not get much faster. But that is what it is all about: Take your time! There is too much hectic out in today’s world anyway. “Smart Flesh” is an awesomely calming album. You forget the time and fast pace of your everyday life and actually slow down and watch the world turn. So this album is not only a must have for all country fans and fans of slow music, but also for people who need to slow down at times but just don’t know how. This album by “The Low Anthem” will definitely help you with that. enjoy “Smart Flesh” and take your time!
