Sea of Bees is the musical project of the Californian Julie Ann Bee, or Jules as everyone calls her. She sings, writes the songs, and plays lots of musical instruments.
The Sea Of Bees release “Songs For The Ravens” has already been out for a while and finally spilled over the big pond and is now finally being released in Europe as well. Eleven tracks with vocals that might be mistaken for Japanese or Chinese music at first listen because of it’s soft sound, the arrangements and the soft voice of Sea Of Bees. The vocals are sung quite high pitched and clearly not in the focus of the arrangements. The music of each songs gets you in a sort of trance though. Like meditation this album lifts your spirit onto higher levels and frees you from yourself. The music on “Songs For The Raven” is very mellow and stays on the same level. No big waves are being made. “Songs For The Ravens” is a great ten-track album for a time out. So get into a comfortable position, light some candles and press play to open your mind and let the spirit free. “Songs For The Ravens” by Sea Of Bees will definitely help you accomplishing that.
