The Birthday Massacre is a Canadian rock band, formed in 1999 in London, Ontario, and currently based in Toronto, Ontario. The current line-up consists of lead vocalist Chibi, rhythm guitarist Rainbow, lead guitarist Falcore, keyboardist Owen, drummer Philip Elliot, and now bassist Brett Carruthers. They have now released their eighth studio album, which is called “Diamonds”.
The album comes with nine songs and lasts for almost forty minutes. Each song is very heartfelt. Sung with soft vocals, you can almost hear the pain in the voice of the singer during some songs. With their rock arrangements wrapped in lots of synthesizers, The Birthday Massacre kept their synth sound we love so much. Soft and yet heavy, these songs wrap around you, and lay on your mind. Each song is telling a story. A sometimes sad one. But always beautiful and lovable.
The songs on “Diamonds” sound almost weightless. Without touching the ground or any walls, the melodies are floating in the room. Like purple clouds, colorful yet a little dark. A beautiful album, with the usual amount of tragedy.
The Birthday Massacre is back with “Diamonds”. Check it out. I am sure you will love it as much as we did.
