Here we have something special for you guys. The brand new Stone Temple Pilots album “Perdida” is a precious gem you all should check out. But let me start from the beginning:
Stone Temple Pilots is an American rock band, founded in 1989, from San Diego that originally consisted of Scott Weiland, brothers Dean and Robert DeLeo, and Eric Kretz. The band’s line-up remained until the firing of Weiland in February 2013. Linkin Park vocalist Chester Bennington joined the band in May 2013, but left in November 2015 to focus solely on Linkin Park. On December 3, 2015, Weiland was found dead on his tour bus before a performance with his band The Wildabouts, and Bennington died on July 20, 2017. In 2016, the band launched an online audition for a new lead vocalist and announced Jeff Gutt as the new lead singer of the band on November 14, 2017.
With Jeff Gutt on vocals, Stone Temple Pilots have now released their most personal album so far. “Perdida” is an acoustic album that is working through the tragedies the band encountered throughout the past couple of years. “Perdida” comes with ten songs. Each one of them is carrying some heavy emotions. The mellow and soft arrangements almost come whispering, to not disturb the mourning silence and yet to break the silence of being speechless. Soft and careful the band is moving forward, bit by bit. You can feel the heaviness on their hearts.
As tragic as it all is, the album turned out beautiful. So gentle and pure, back to the basics and with some traditional instruments. Each song is special and deserves its own space. A wonderful album. “Perdida” is out now.
