Lordi – Killection

Lordi is one of the most productive metal bands worldwide. Only one year since the last record “Sexorcism” was released and this winter Lordi presented the tenth studio album named “Killection”. This easy-recognized formation were created in Finland almost thirty years ago. Since then the band won Eurovision contest in 2006 and changed several band members.

Welcome to the rock boat that translates several popular tracks from 70s era. You’d like to hear some boogie vibes, much keyboards and even sax. Lordi weren’t themselves if they didn’t put some frightened things to the whole material. Firstly, track with long name “I Dug A Hole In The Yard For You” has its video with transformation from normal guys to Lordi-looking ones. Secondly, here some calls to the SCG10 radio and the special last one with hissing “I am here”. So there are much unexpected and non-typical references. For example, heart-tearing track “Zombimbo” includes poor vocals, too much keyboards and this “zomimbooow”.  Other tracks invite you to dance also. Here are “Shake The Baby Silent” and “Like A Bee To The Honey”. In opposite “Blow my fuse” with the bass-line gives the record mark of being not only ironical.         

Honestly, all the tracks are worthy to be on the playlist because there is touch of humor everywhere. Despite this fact, “Lordi” stays deadly serious (and frightened).
