Covenant is a band from Sweden whose music comprises a mixture between electro-pop and electronic dance music. They have been releasing their music since the early 1990s.
Covenant has now released a new EP called “Lightbringer” and was done in cooperation with Necro Facility. Five tracks out of seven are “Lightbringer” remixes and versions, so there is two additional tracks on this EP. “The Beauty And The Grace” as well as “Never Seem To End” are the other two. Catchy and thriving, dreamy and oldschool are most of the versions on this album. The melodies as well as the lyrics get stuck in your head from the first listen on. The music makes you think of Depeche Mode or A-HA. “Never Seem To End” starts with a cracking like you hear it on vinyls, only this cracking has a beat and is done on purpose. “Never Seem To End” has a spacey and astronaut sound due to all the samples it includes. Even though “Lightbringer” only contains three different songs along with the five versions of the title track, this release definitely was worth being shared with fans. A wonderful sound and a wonderful melody, just the way we know it from Covenant.
