The Polish band Black River is a typical rock n roll band. The band is around since 2008, but “Black ‘n’ roll” is the band’s second album.
This band honors the good old sound of rock n roll and bring it back alive. The typical band you see in a bar somewhere but never gets to release a successful album. Well, Black River seems to turn the tide. The band has some catchiness, strengthened by the perfect vocals for this type of music. Hear a good going bass in their sound, remarkable, and the rest of the instruments just seem to work out well.
Songs that seem to stick around most must be the catchy “Isabel” or the following up “Lucky in Hell”. After these the spark goes off it for some songs, but towards the end the band seem to catch it all up again. Interesting enough you find some familiar names in the band’s line up as musicians of bands like Benemoth and Dimmu Borgir are into it, which shows that this band might not be the main focus of the guys. Seems like this album is just what they do for some quality fun times. As long as there keep coming this sort of records, we can’t object.
