Tonight we were at Sinkkasten. 3 bands were there to play, I had seen all of them before. Headliner tonight was Vains Of Jenna.

As we arrived there were some people already. Since it was a Monday morning and “the morning after” Rock am Ring and Rock im Park, we did not expect many people to come at all, but there were quite some people in the end. But let me tell you one at the time. The first band playing was Hopscotch, a rock band from Darmstadt. With a smoky voice and a lot of energy the band played for about 40 minutes trying to get the people off their chairs – behind the dance floor Sinkkasten has chairs like you know them from the movie theater – but nobody seemed to be willing to get up. There were only about 8 people standing on the dance floor, everybody else was sitting either at the bar or on these chairs. That does not mean that Hopscotch is bad, hell no. Their music is very powerful and kick ass, the songs are great to rock along. The singer kept on talking to the people after each song, telling stuff or making jokes. Everybody had fun – even when seated. For the last song, a Turbonegro cover, the singer of Tracy Gang Pussy joined.
Next band was Torpedohead. Torpedohead is the rock n’ roll process of supersonic combustion in which a shock wave from razorsharp riffs is propagated forward due to energy release in a reaction zone behind it. Haling from Frankfurt, Germany the trio lives the imagination of the New York Dolls jamming on AC/DC tunes, while transforming this into their own riff driven sound. Since Torpedohead hit the stage the first time in 2008, the band featuring singer and guitarist Sven Spacebrain , drummer Zasch bassist Hardy, has been giging relentless in Germany and other European countries, supporting international rock acts such as the legendary New York Dolls, The Mansfields, Peter Pan Speedrock, The Lurkers or The Cuck Norris Experiment among others. They played many songs from one of Sven’s previous bands called Spacebrains. The music was very sleaze rock. People stayed seated but also enjoyed their performance. They cheered after each song. The band did not talk too much to the audience but played a nice show.
Now it was time for Vains of Jenna. Vains of Jenna was formed by four young people from Sweden. Their commons influences include Mötley Crüe, Guns N’ Roses, the Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, Nirvana, and Hanoi Rocks. At that time the two youngest members of the band were 18 years old. Together the group self-produced several demos including a cover of the Rolling Stones’ “Jumpin’ Jack Flash” which they released via their website for free download. They have three albums released so far. And finally, after a long time, they were back in Europe for a tour. With a new singer and lots of energy they entered the stage, ready to rock it big time. Catchy tunes off all three albums made everybody dance and rock along, song along, drink along and cheer out loud. Sinkkasten became one big party place. Vains Of Jenna rocked their guts out, powerful and passionate they performed here in Frankfurt. There was no need to animate the people to go along because they all did already, but Jesse (the new singer) still did it. The band interacted a lot with their audience and the audience highly appreciated it. It was an awesome show with awesome music. Vains Of Jenna is amazing live band with great songs. The new singer takes a little sleaze away but brings a lot of rock and entertainment along. He couldn’t stand still for even a single second. I can’t wait to see Vains Of Jenna again.
