Kult – The Eternal Darkness I Adore

Label: Folter Records
Releasedate:
2018

Recently we received a stack of promo’s by Folter Records. Some are quite old, but since it is summer and fewer albums are releasing during the season we thought it may be worth to have a look anyway. This one is released in 2018 by the artist Kult.

Kult is an Italian formation that has been around since 2001. The band released “The Eternal Darkness I Adore” as their third full length album. Their music is aimed at Old School sound, the production is quite raw but strong enough to support the qualities of the band. With a melodic touch to it the guys are giving it an opening, the band leans onto familiar sounds which sometimes is a bit of a pity. Hard to find the thing that makes Kult what they are. What is their identity, what are they up for?
Best track of the album is “Devourer of the Night” with which they close the song. One you could really dig into.

Overall we can enjoy the music. The riffs are of good quality, the compositions are well thought of and the album has enough variation to keep us listening. It just misses a little bit of an unique touch. Perhaps they can highlight that a bit more for a next one. This one will do for now.
