Beaten to Death identifies as Melodic Grindcore. The Norwegians are choosing a rather interesting label for their music we would say. The released the album “Agronomicon” recently.  

The band members of this formation are probably known to you from a diversity of other acts they are associated with. The band has not bothered to put a lot of work onto the album. Recorded live… straight as it is as they say. Well, that non-bullshit attitude we can appreciate, brings some spontaneity to it all.

The melodic they speak about is certainly there but does not deign that much of role as one may have expected. However with a good sense of humor in the lyrics it makes the whole perhaps a bit more friendlier to the untrained grindcore ear. Maybe creating that bridge for the potential grindcore fans out there seeking something new to explore.
Luckily the aggression is in there, if you have some frustration and trust me, I certainly had some after some rough weeks in the private life, you feel much relieved when this twenty minutes of Melodic Grindcore have passed.

Interesting release, these Norwegians have brought an unexpected alliance to the world. “Agronomicon” is one of those albums that stick with you for stepping across the cliché and bring something that feels refreshing!
