The Swedish Crashdïet often got named as the savers of the Sleaze, they got successful in an age that almost banned out the genre. With their debut album they managed to make themselves noticed in the scene and relight the fire. In 2006 the band lost its singer and people thought the band would die too. They found another singer and went on with what they have been doing, but it did not worked out as they broke up with him after the release of their second album and tour. Anno 2010 the band returns with a new singer, named Simon Cruz, and a new album called: “Generation Wild”.
Crashdïet found a good singer in Simon Cruz. His vocals are not too high, but full of pit and sex. He is flexible and able to give plenty of diversity to the music of Crashdïet. The band itself has not drastically changed its way of working and even though they come with yet another singer they managed to have a certain recognizability in their sound. A typical 80’s feeling anno 2010, you can leave this up to a band which built quite a reputation in only a few years compared to the existence of their heroes. Fans of Crashdïet can blindly buy this album, it’s full of what they are used to from this band, a whole lot of sing-a-long, sleaze, rock and roll and it sets you in the mood to see the band live.
