Mirexxx – Vault

[schema type=”review” name=”Mirexxx – Vault” description=”Label: Echozone” author=”Sabine van Gameren” pubdate=”2018-11-16″ ]
Mirexx is an Elektro duo from Belgium. Earlier this year they released an EP, and now they have a full length album ready for you. It is called “Vault” and it is available now.

At first it looks like they went for a quite raw and cold approach, “Bleeding Sky” is giving a cold chill, rather than embrace you with a warm, danceable atmosphere. The info sheet informs us this would do well in clubs as well, but it is maybe not the most likely choice.
The intensity is taken up one notch when getting to “Death Angel”. By then a lot of listeners will also be quite annoyed with that beat being so blunt. It just does not have any depth at all. No problems with a drum computer, but this is one seems like a discounter version, it’s out there but just not giving you the top experience one could have.

Title track “Vault” is probably the most remarkable song on the release, it seems most rich and will interest more people listening to the music. Altogether it reminds strongly to Hocico, but Hocico has a lot more vibrance to their music. Mirexxx could benefit from that if they choose to get into that direction, embed it into their own thing and then it could work.
