Scottish formation Nazareth returns with a new release. With an impressive career on their hands it is now up for album number 24! It is called “Tattooed On My Brain”.
It has been a while, the last release dated back to 2014, but the guys are not getting tired of making music yet. 50 years into the business the guys are keeping it going. They are replacing their singer though. Health issues caused Dan McCafferty to quit.
After all these releases it may be hard to surprise the fans, the guys are delivering quite as expected. For those who have not been following the guys in the past years it is good to know that regardless the essence of the music being the same, the whole comes together in a modern touch. They are not ignoring 2018, chosing their production wisely.
So, with “Tattooed On My Brain” you are served with guitarsolo’s of quality. Them guitars taking the lead but new vocalist Carl Sentance skillfully knows to place its stamp on it too. He finds his own spotlight and seem to have no trouble fitting in. It looks like the guys have found a good match here. Powerful and secure he sets himself there as a new vocalist.
Remarkable tracks on the album are “You Call Me”, a balad that let’s you listen in with some more care. Drama and passion in one. Also titletrack “Tattooed On My Brain” is catchy in its own way.
Altogether the guys delivered a fine release, no one would expect different although the chance of vocalist may bring doubts to fans and followers. No need to worry, Carl works it and seems like a long time member to the family.
