Fvzz Popvli is a noise rock trio. Raised in Rome by Pootchie and Datio in A.D. MMXVI,  the band delivers some heavy fuzzness with the most straightforward approach! They are relatively young as the debut was released just last year but the band has been going strong with many live shows. They are back with a second full-length called “Magna Fvzz”, released recently!

Probably the first things the listeners (and especially the ones who are too familiar with this genre) will recognize would be the influences from the big legends such as Black Sabbath or The Stooges. However, don’t let this confuse or disappoint you. “Magna Fvzz” is a solid release. It has the elements from certain genres such as noise rock, pysch and stoner rock, that will keep you attracted. I even sensed a bit of punk attitude from the vocals. However, throughout the album, I felt that the vocals were too monotonous so a little bit of diversity within the vocals would have made “Magna Fvzz” even more attractive. On the contrary, the bass in general is one of my personal highlights.

One big surprise is the last and the longest song “Magna Fvzz”. I think this reflects the true potential of the band; great diversity and the progressive atmosphere within the band’s sound. I somehow also wondered if the album could have been better if it had been in the direction of the style of “Magna Fvzz”… Nevertheless, despite some cons, I can see myself returning to this album every now and then to chill. Give this one a try if you like this genre!
