The Hirvi – Old School Killspree

About 30 years later they come to release a full length album called “Old School Killspree” and it is available now.

With Metal Massacre’s performance fresh in mind the album came and we have to admit that due to an insane schedule on our hand, we never had the time to sit down and write our thoughts, but simply kept playing the album in the car thinking, this is something we need to give the rights words, for it is something different so to say.
The wild beast we saw live is translated quite well into an album. The album has some English tracks as well as some Finnish ones but the surprises are well spread amongst the track list. In the diversity of Thrash releases that passes our ears we don’t often come across a tracks like “Dance Dance Dance” that gives you a slow sexy anticipation on what it is building to: the mayhem unleased. But the teasing is endless. Can you handle the heat?

You can also go with the more fast paced “Killer Instinct” which gives that old school sound a solid ground in 2018. When that bomb of riffs burst you can feel the spirit of The Hirvi at its finest! Seeing it again a bit different you come to “The Hirvi” a track that is made to be played live and have the audience start to warm up.

There is much diversity in the release and The Hirvi has a fine face of their own, unique nowadays. (and some antlers, which makes head banging much more impressive in anyway.) With this album you will be able to spend some hours as it does not stop to amaze you very soon. Bucks well worth spend so to say!
