The Italian vand Eversin is born in 2000. They mix genres as Power Metal, Thrash and Techno into their music. The band has been known as Fvoco Fatvo so far, “Divina Distopia”is their first release under the name Eversin.
Eversin surely experiments with genres, but the right description is hard to make. It has something of all in it. The mix of the instrumentals make an interesting part of it. “Wings Ov Tears” really interested me, until the vocals come in. Vocalist Angelo F has a voice that suits into any Power Metal band. Here it takes quite some time before you get used to it, to be honest, by the end of the album I am still not over it. Experimenting is what the band seem to adopt mostly and however sometimes the feeling rises that the band just could not decide on what style of music they were going to make. There is plenty good stuff to hear, hear how the riffing gets a perfect back up from the keys which does great for the atmosphere of this album. Just sometimes the genres are not going up into each other nicely and that is an interrupting factor with it.
Nevertheless “Divina Distopia” is a good album which has strong points but leaving up question marks with the intention that the band had with making certain decisions. It is an album you will have to listen more often to get the essence out of it. When you take some time for it, you will slowly grow into it, but be aware that this ain’t love at first sight.
